Tip #1: Make an outline with bullet points or justifications on why it will benefit you and your company. Show that you will make the most of it, and why attending sessions are important to your professional development goals. Explain how it will help make your organization when providing quality culturally based services.

Tip #2: Professional Development –- Education is important, especially in the behavioral health field. Indian Country is represented through culturally relevant education programs. I will have the opportunity to learn new techniques and fulfill my required courses – such as Prevention Specific Ethics, Behavioral Health Professional Ethics, Cultural Competencies, and 12 Core Functions. NATI collaborates with several State/National/International licensing boards to attain my CEUs. There are 30 CEUs offered at a low cost compared to other organizations. I can collaborate and share ideas with other attendees and speakers.
Tip #3: Career and Community - I will learn more about the behavioral health in Indian Country and how I can help my clients. Tip #4: Networking & Representation -- I can represent our company in a good way. I will prepare an outline or presentation of everything I learned at the conference and create a contact list of people and vendors I met. I can then report back to each team or manager, and explain what I learned that may help them.
